Flash MP3 players

Flash MP3 players are so called because they use flash memory (like the memory cards in a digital camera)  to hold the music files. They come in various sizes from 128Mb to 1 Gb. Most have the memory built in, but some use memory cards like a camera, so you can expand the capacity by buying extra cards.

Flash MP3 players have no moving parts, so they are light, portable and skip-free. Because of this Flash MP3 players are often termed "portable MP3 players" and are well suited to active use such as jogging or exercising. If your'e a swimmer, you can even get waterproof flash MP3 players.

A 128Mb MP3 player will hold about 2 hours of near CD quality music. They genarally run off standard AA or AAA batteries, and you can get about 10 hours of playback from one battery.
